[PIC]: Microchip's IPE v4.01

Hi all,

I've been using PICkit3 and IPE to program a PIC18F chip via ICSP for
a project. All seemed to work fine.

I noticed a problem in my code whereby the wrong character was being
received from the serial port to the PC. I could not find out why this
occurred so I used IPE to verify the chip and was reported as ok.

After much head scratching and still no joy, I reprogrammed the chip
with the same HEX code and now the problem is fixed and IPE still
verifies ok.

Also unless I am missing something, it won't let you read a chip
unless a HEX file has been loaded.

Anyone else had problems.
