Post by Kevin McGuinnessWhat do you all think of this way of teaching computer science?

It's just a form of a standard Computer Organization and Architecture
course using a simulator. For example Tanenbaum's Computer Organization
book goes from transistors up to instruction set architectures and assembly
in about 3 chapters including building an ALU and a microprogrammed CPU.
It's good for Computer Scientists to get a look under the hood. It's fine
to drive a car without understanding an internal combustion engine if
you're an ordinary driver. But a mechanic or car designer had better know
how it works under the hood.
