Hi All,

I became interested in low power usb ionic air fresheners as an
alternative to the very expensive USB Killer. The ionic air fresheners
sell from $0.19 to ~$2 at that online auction place. I think the
highest I ever paid for one is just under a $1 each. They're cute as can
be and have a very small transformer and a single stage transistor
driver circuit that fits inside of a slightly over-sized usb enclosure.

Well, they're made in China and sold as 'unbranded' units-need I say
more? Avoid this thing like the plague!!!

I just finished reverse engineering one (including an LTSpice
simulation). The transformer is supposed to produce around 70 volts,
which is then applied to a 2 stage Cockcroft-Walton voltage multiplier
to produce -200 volts at the carbon fiber emitter.

There are serious flaws in the design-I mean VERY SERIOUS. I'd like to
summarize my findings and make the schematic, the LTSpice .asc file and
the schematic some place online so that the public can find the
information with a search engine and download the summary.

If anyone wants to have a look at them, go to

Does anyone have an idea where I can post files anonymously for the
purpose of getting the word out regarding these items? Send me a sign::>

Probably best to use some form of social media using a fake identity.
Youtube might be the best way to go as you can upload a video highlighting
the problems you've uncovered and you can make diagrams and spice
simulations part of the video (no need to link to an external traceable ip
address).

Lots of other people post to youtube regarding fakes and many of them
don't seem concerned about using their real identity. The posts are long
lived so it doesn't seem like youtube care much about libal issues.

You could send a sample & your analysis to "bigClive" . He doesn't seem to
worry to much about exposing bad designs on youtube. And he already has a
good following.

I find that sentence ambiguous and/or unelucidatable.

Could you please explain the intended use of the device.
