Timer 1 on PIC16F88/87

The datasheet says that bit* TMR1CS *which selects between internal and
external clocks is only availsble on the 16F88 device but does not say
which clock the 16F87 device uses.

Before I set up a test does anyone know the answer?

Where are you seeing this?

The only similar note that I can see is that the ADIF and ADIE bits are
only implemented on a 16F88...

I think that Note1 is meanig, that 16F87 does not have AN5 analog input. I
removed the AN5 and you can read this: 1 = External clock from pin
RB6/PGC/T1OSO/T1CKI

You missed the subscript (1) by AN5, two rows up.

This note means that AN5 is only available on 16F88. Not that the bit is
unavailable. The 'F87 doesn't have an ADC so this makes sense. See a
similar note, note 4 on page 9.
